Pepsi donates $10K to Feeding the Carolinas

Between March 15 and June 2 alone, North Carolinians filed more than 992,700 unemployment claims. Between mid-March and June 19, South Carolinians filed more than 601,600 unemployment claims. With this increasing instability, it’s predicted that more than 2.8 million people might deal with hunger in the Carolinas this year. Our communities are hurting, and providing food is a quick and critical way to help individuals and families start to feel more stable.
That’s why Pepsi is donating $10K to Feeding the Carolinas, a network of food banks in North and South Carolina that creates a consistent food source for those in need. (Want to donate as well? You can do that here.)
As Mike Darrow, Executive Director of Feeding the Carolinas, explained to Pepsi Cares, “Feeding the Carolinas works across two states to leverage resources, both funds and food, to our regional food banks.”
You can now find special Pepsi Cares bottle caps in stores when you shop for 2-liters. They serve as a simple reminder: Your purchase of Pepsi products allows us to support charitable institutions like Feeding the Carolinas.
“Long-term partnerships like we have with Pepsi Cares are vital to us as we feed our neighbors in need, and we are so grateful,” Darrow said.
Thanks for all you do – and all the good you will do. The Carolinas are in this together.
