Halloween for Special Needs

Pepsi Volunteers Donate Free Drinks to Treats For Special Kids Halloween Event in Florence, SC

Pepsi believes no one should miss out on a fun night of trick-or-treating.

Community members from Pepsi donated free drinks on Oct. 16 as part of its annual contribution to the Halloween event, "Treats for Special Kids,” that WBTW News13 hosted for children with special needs in Florence, SC. The kids got to dress up and trick-or-treat in a safe environment at the Southern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology.

Hundreds of children from dozens of local schools had the chance to participate in the excitement. They were joined by volunteers from area businesses and civic organizations that donned costumes — a cheerful cow and Dr. Seuss were among the characters — and handed out treats.

The addition of Pepsi to the mix was just one more way the Carolina-born brand is helping to make their region a better place to live, work and -— of course — play.
