Pepsi Bottling Ventures Corporate Farm Day

Keeping with tradition, dozens of volunteers at Pepsi Bottling Ventures helped with farm operations in Raleigh before the Thanksgiving holiday.

On Nov. 16, local volunteers worked the land at 2300 Dover Farm Road alongside Inter-Faith Food Shuttle employees. The corporate farm day is an annual event for Pepsi Bottling Ventures.

By distributing millions of pounds of food each year and educating families on how to grow their own food and cook on a budget, the Food Shuttle, a nonprofit, works toward ending hunger in the Raleigh community. The land along Dover Farm Road is utilized to grow crops that can be sold and used to support low-income communities with increased access to nutritious foods.

Pepsi Bottling Ventures employees do — and did — their part to help with farm operations, from seed planting for crops, to spreading mulch, to harvesting crops. They also provided metal work on farm tools.

For Pepsi, it’s all about finding meaningful ways to give back to the Carolinas.
