Pepsi celebrates Father-Daughter Dance

Five-thousand balloons covered the dance floor at the SiMT building in Florence, SC during the Florence Family YMCA’s Annual Father-Daughter Dance. The 20th annual event, sponsored by Pepsi-Cola of Florence, brought in a sold-out crowd of 1,400 dads with their daughters on Feb. 8. It was the highest turnout in the event’s history. (SCNow)
“I like going with my dad because I love my dad,” attendee Baylee Cannon told SCNow. “I like to dance.”
She has now attended the dance seven times with her father, Kevin.
They’re not alone. The Florence Family YMCA posted on Facebook: “CB Averitt, the husband of our Aquatics Director, Cynthia, has attended every single Annual Father-Daughter Dance for the past 20 years.”
The evening featured sweet treats and Pepsi products, photo opportunities and plenty of time to dance. And, of course, pink, purple and white balloons floating all around the dance floor.
But what made the occasion even more special was the underlying cause. All proceeds from ticket sales supported the Florence Family YMCA’s scholarship program for child care, memberships, swimming lessons and sports. (SCNow)
The Florence Family YMCA posted on Facebook: “Wonderful memories were made.”
